Any tips on helping square up my aprons? I made some errors when glueing and the probably weren’t all square and true before I started. What i’m left with is a piece that can move up and down when I press on one of the corners. I’ve tried using winding sticks but it looks ok and is mostly flat after some serious planing, but theres still movement from opposite corners.
Although that could present problems, I’m sure a little twist won’t cause too much headache. If you do try to flatten some more, remember to use the winding sticks not only at each end of the apron, but also at far end and middle and at middle and near end. There could be twist that doesn’t show up when only the ends are checked.
Good luck and let us know how it comes out.
Thanks here are some pictures. It clamps flat to my current bench. I will try and remove as much as possible. That’s a good idea to try the winding sticks closer to the middle and not just the ends. Never thought of that…!
