Hi guys, i have just returned from my local branch of Aldi with a ‘granite worktop saver’ (chopping board). It measures approximately 395mm x 295mm x 15mm thick. It even has silicone anti-slip feet under it. Its ideal for lapping etc and cost me just 6.99. Anyway, just thought I’d leave a message in case anybody is interested,
cheers
matt
hi matt i saw those and picked up one .unfortunately mine had as slight dip in the centre did you run a straight edge across yours
Hi David, i used one of their combination squares to find one that looked flat, i obviously relied on that square being straight though. However I’ve just checked it with a couple of different squares and it seems ok. I doubt it will be flat to any precise tolerances but its good enough for me!
I went to my local flooring store and got a 12 x 12. 3/4 thick dead flat 5 bucks
Got the same size as at Tescos and it was dearer than though. I knew it was ‘very’ flat as I tried it with a steel rule I brought with me.
