Hello,
I’m seeking some design advise. I’ve been asked to build a wall hung sword display. Unfortunately I’m struggling with the frame, think picture or mirror frame, that I want to wrap around the edge of a large piece of Curly Maple, approx 9 inches by 40 inches. The sword will hang on Wood hooks morticed Into the front face of Curly Maple.
I like the Greene and Greene style of through mortice and tenons that are left long. Maybe I’m over thinking this but do I need to do anything else to the frame? The frame will be either 5/4 or 4/4 walnut. I will likely add square plugs for show cut slight curves into the outside edges of the short sides.
Thoughts / comments welcome.
Tks
Greg
