Hi to You all!
I recent found this hand drill in my father-in-law junk, and i need a bit of help. The chuck is broken – by my understanding – i think it miss something like a spring to attach the pin inside the chuck.
I searched online but until now I found nothing really useful.
There’s no sing of a manufacture brand– Does any one know how to fix/attach those pins inside the chuck?
– Does anyone know were to buy a compatible chuck? (the threads are very thin)
I really like to fix it because it operate very very smoothly! Thanks!

You must be logged in to view attached files. It appears that there are actually three springs missing, one for each wedge. They are made of thin wire with a few bends in each one. It is a bit of a trick to hold all of them in place while installing the wedges. I used a few small pieces of painters tape on the tops to keep them from flying around. I do not know where you could buy any short of picking up a cheapie eggbeater on Ebay and scavenging the springs. Perhaps someone else knows of a source.
Hola Antonio,
Ultimamente he comprado demasiados taladros y berbiquís, por lo que creo que te tengo algunas recomendaciones…
First of all, research the drill brand, and chuck type. Then look or ask if these springs work for your chuck:
If not, you can buy Stanley springs from a Stanley chuck replacement parts set. They are cheap enough to buy and try to see if they fit in your chuck… look here http://www.stanleytoolparts.com/drills-hand.html
or google for stanley chuk parts.
Buena suerte!
