Hello everyone-
I am working on Paul’s bookshelf project from the DVD set. I am almost done, so I am now wondering how to hang the bookshelf once it is completed. Paul does not cover the toping of hanging on his DVD, so I am wondering if anyone here at WWMC has any ideas or successes.
Would a bookshelf like this normally have a m&t cross rail at the back that one can screw through to the wall? Paul’s design has the rails only on the front.
Thanks for any ideas.
I have taken a liking to the French cleat system. Check out this video:
I use them now as a first choice whenever I want to hang something if at all possible instead of the other “picture” hanging or hard/permanent mounting choices. I live in an apartment and added cabinets in the kitchen using the French cleat system. I also added bookshelfs in my spare bedroom. The bookshelves are jammed full of woodworking/carving/investmen/gardening books. Very heavy when full.
One thing though, be sure to include “spacers” toward the bottom of the bookshelf/cabinet.
