What would be the best way to cut a slot along the sides of a drawer to slide in a 6mm plywood base. Currently, I do it with a slot cutter on a router table. I would prefer to use hand tools to do the job. I don’t have a grooving plane and am unlikely to get one in this part of the world. Is there any other way apart from from chipping away with a chisel?
hi Indranil have you not seen the dovetail box series if you have access to them take a look at video 5 where paul shows the method you are looking for using a saw and a chisel no need for a plow plane i hope this helps
Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately I haven’t seen that video.
But the fact that a saw and chisel could do the job gives me an idea of how it could be done.
