Tagged: curved block plane, Stanley 100 1/2
I ran across this specialty plane the other day when I went to visit The Tool Farmer (a fellow that deals in antique tools). It is a Stanley 100 1/2 squirrel tail curved soled block plane. I will be using it to scoop out wooden chair seats. I have been testing it out, it does a great job.
nice find John i hope you didn’t have to pay to much for it but all rare tools come with a price tag .
Thanks guys.
I did not know what they commonly sold for, so a first I walked away from the deal. Then I check E-Bay on my phone before I left flea market. After seeing the wide range of prices on internet. I returned to make the purchase.
I believe I got a very fair deal. It is in great shape, all I did is sharpen the blade. I paid $40 USD.
HaHa Ken you’re not wrong ,John $40 sounds like a great price i’ve not seen another on Ebay uk
Nice find at a decent price. $40 for a quality tool is hard to beat.
