hey guys, can anyone advise me on how to design a single shelf for my laptop which will be above my workbench so i can use it while at the bench.
something in paul’s style would be great. i know there are lots of plans on the internet but i wonder how paul would make one
thanks!
Chance, without knowing your setup in the shop, it’s tough to imagine what would work. Use your requirements to come up with a design. Attached is a sketchup picture of an angled stand I use for my laptop to make it more comfortable on my desk. It has housing dadoes for the triangle-shaped supports underneath it. I’ve screwed them in place from the top instead of gluing due to the cross-grain issue.
As far as how PS might build it? He seems to love housing dadoes.
Whatever you do, don’t do nothing – you can always make another if you end up not liking the first one you make.
hey i can’t see your attachment?
after browsing google images i saw a shelf with a mortice and tenon as the shelf support, it’s very strong i heard so i went with that instead of dados.
i think the dados look more attractive though
thanks for your reply
