After watching Paul’s spoon making video I was inspired to have a go, I found that it was easier and more secure when using the axe to support the spoon on a stout piece of timber held in the vice sat on the floor
In addition to the axe I used some cheap files I had bought from Aldi, a spoke shave and chisel gouges and a scraper I made from the end of a cabinet scraper for the bowl.
I finished off with a bit of sandpaper.
Unfortunately there is a crack in the bowl that only become evident upon completion.

How do you plan to repair the crack in the bowl of your spoon?

    Thanks guys
Robin I don’t intend to fix it I take it that is the risk of making things in green wood. It was the fun and experience gained in the making that I did it for , I never intended it to be used I treated it with Danish oil and it will sit in a jar on by bench and maybe inspire me to make others
