Judging by the picture, you need more than the jaws. I don’t know the terminology, but you need the jaws and the jaw housing (collet?). The housing screws onto the threads in your picture and by doing so tightens the jaws.
The only thing I can recommend is to contact old tool dealers (or eBay). They may be able to get you working. Search the internet for dealers. Some are Supertool and Jim Bode. Good luck.

I made a set fr a brace and while the steel is not tempered it will work better than mo jawsHello Karl,
Have you tried telephoning Footprint Tools in Sheffield?
It’s still a family-run business. The lady who answers the ‘phones (Christine) was very helpful in sourcing a replacement Screw-Bolt for my ancient Footprint Pipe-Wrench.
They didn’t have any of the old size I needed and made a replacement especially for me.
Christine said that to invoice for small spares is just not worth the time. So they normally just send you the bits you require.
(I sent her a Costa Coffee gift-card)
Alan22 September 2016 at 8:31 pm #140761The jaws I have seen so far (4 braces) didn’t vary much, neither in size nor in shape, although the braces did. Some have a pin and a hole at the end to align the pair, others don’t. I have three braces that I got cheap from flea markets (around 3,50 Euro average) and I can use the pairs interchangeably, even though they do differ in size.
If you can find braces at similar prices in your area, this might be the easiest method to find new jaws.
Dieter
ps: About tempering steel, there are many methods that can be used at home. Just be careful not to set anything on fire, especially the oil. The internet covers everything from simple bush-craft methods to scientific background information.
