Just finished this joinery bench. It is elbow height or me. 42 inches. One of the real treats is being able to redeem the two vise screws from an antique mall where they had been turned into lamps .

Nice Ron, I like the little support stand on the end to hang stuff.

Great bench, I will have to try that as at over 6 foot I find the standard bench too low when I’m working on joints.

Nice job on the bench, and a great looking shop. I like the wooden walls myself for storage and racks.

Very cool bench, Ron. It’s funny because as I was looking at your photo of it I thought that it looks just like my bench, except the right 4 feet is cut off and not piled with tools. Yours is exactly the area of mine in which I actually work, and your tools are right at hand. Cool tools and shop arrangement.

Your vise screws are probably breathing a huge sigh of relief now and happy to be back doing the job they were meant for. No more humiliation as lamps. 😉

Well done Ron, I hate seeing old tools going the way of the dodo and “re-purposed” as it is so in vogue to say now.  If most of the people using that term these days had a light bulb moment and suddenly really understood it the way traditional woodworkers and other resourceful people do they might spit a bit of latte back in to their disposable cups!

Nice job Ron. I’m doing one like yours. You’ve given me an idea to improve my design.
