The first chair is almost complete, made it out of birch to keep a local feel to it. I went to find leather to cover the seat. Living in cattle country in Northern British Columbia, I thought it would be relatively easy to acquire.
Well almost. The stumbling block is the weight of leather I want for the seat. The gentleman I spoke with suggested 3 – 4 oz, but when I felt it I thought it might be too light weight.
Is 3 – 4 oz leather heavy enough? Anyone dealt with leather before? I would appreciate any input.
Sorry ticktock, I don’t know enough about leather to comment. But congratulations on the chair build. It looks really nice.
