Hi. Does anyone recognise this problem – I’ve got an account with Paul’s classes and I can log in on my phone, but it won’t accept my username or password on my TV. It’d always worked fine until two days ago. I’ve tried resetting my password but it still says not recognised. Anyone got any ideas, I need to be able to watch on TV not just my phone. Alan
I’m clutching at straws here…
But I don’t know what you mean by logging in on your TV… Do you perhaps mean YouTube?
If so, your Login details for Youtube are not the same thing as your login details for Woodworking Masterclass. With apologies if I’ve got completely the wrong end of the stick!
Matt27 December 2022 at 1:01 am #784860I have never been able to easily directly watch the Sellers paid for projects on my TV. Only can watch the free videos Paul puts on YOUTUBE. I can watch on my smart tv by using a Chrome SMARTCAST to my tv from my phone or making a hardwireHDMI cable connection from the output port on my laptop to an input port on the TV. I have never seen a SMARTTV that actually had a browser app that would let you directly bring up a website other than a streaming site like HULU< NETFLIX< EBAY etc. I may be missing something but it has always been cumbersome to view PAULs website directly on my Smart TVs Just the size of the screen wiould make it a great option as my eyes are aging. Good Luck.
27 December 2022 at 5:16 pm #784926Dear Alan,
What do you mean by “won’t accept my username or password”? Is it returning “invalid username or password” or does it just refresh the page and ask for the username and password again? If it is the former, something was typed incorrectly. If it is the latter, it could a few things. Your TV or app that you use updated, and that updated software no longer handles certain protocols or functions. Or, the reverse could be true; the website might have updated something in its login routine that the app can no longer handle.
As Gerald mentioned, the simplest workaround would be to use a casting program available through your phone’s apps store and your TV. Or, you can pipe your computer’s video to your TV via an appropriate media (RGB, VGA, HDMI, etc.)
Hope this helps or at least sheds light on what might be going. Please follow up with any questions or comments.
Best regards,
NickThanks to you all for your replies. I will have to try the casting programme I guess. What’s strange Nick is that I am using the correct username and password. I’ve used them for the last year, and they still work on my phones. But suddenly both TVs at home won’t accept the address and/or password. I’ve tried about 20 times now, so it’s not a typing error but something in the programming. And it’s 2 tvs suddenly, not just one. Hence my wondering if there were a problem with the website. Really frustrating as I’m up to the last episode of the cabinet, but can’t get to watch it. Thanks for the suggestions though. Alan
hi Alan
the authentication has changed (at least for me) and there is a ‘verify you are a human’ checkbox or a ‘success’ green dot from cloudflare.
if you are using a saved authentication on your tv, disable auto login and log in manually (wait for cloudflare before submitting your credentials) so you can see if that is causing your problems. if you get the ‘verify you are a human’ checkbox, click that and wait for the ‘success’ ✅ before submitting your credentialsi noticed that if i submit my login credentials before cloudflare has finished whatever it is doing, i get an error similar to the one you are seeing
regards
