Doing the work on my clock with coping saw was quite hard work with wood being 7/8″ thick thought I look for a Bow saw.
I’ve had a look on ebay but don’t like what I have seen. They look like they might fall apart or snap and getting blade to match the width may be a problem.

I have found Gramercy make one off the peg $150 they also supply blades.
They also have plans for bow saw which you can download .If I cannot find maker over here I probably have a stab at making one. Pegasus Make blade so Maybe get in UK.

Here are a couple of related posts that Paul had on his blog about making the saw. They may be helpful.

I am trying to be good and not spend any money myself. I am on a two day streak so far.

    Hi Mark
Crown offer one for sale in the uk if you do decide to buy one. I don’t know much about it but I think it retails for approximately £50.
Take plenty of pics if you decide to build one, it’d be great to see the results 🙂

The Gramercy Tools bow saw is one of my favourite hand tools. I use it for clearing out dovetail waste, sawing curves, and rip sawing by hand (as I do not have a panel hand saw.)

Well worth the money, but I would only bother getting the 10 tpi blades next time.
