Hello, Everyone!
I have a table top of walnut that needs pore filling. However, there is a very white wood border about two inches in from the perimeter edge. Can someone please share a method of masking the white wood so the black pore fill does not affect the contrasting border?
Thank you
Use painters blue tape, it’s thick and the finish will not penetrate or cross over.
Hope this helps maybe someone else will have a better solution.
Thank you for the response. I seem to not have the best of luck with masking and keeping the line nice and crisp. The light colored border is only about 3mm wide, so just a slight flaw will be very evident. I did find something on a luthier’s video on applying a thinned lacquer coating over the light colored wood with a fine brush or cotton swab.
I think I am going to do both and hope for the best.
