Mark…your small shop is more like a tool warehouse/museum. Very nice collection you have there. I have a weakness for vintage wing dividers…so much so that my wife has taken away my Ebay privileges.
Great question Dan, I have a couple that is in dire need of help as well but afraid I will mess up if I do anything to them. I know people sharpen and replace all the time but am not sure of the correct procedure.

On marking gauge it not hard just replace pin. On a mortise gauge I would not know how to remove pins from the brass in which they are held.
I do touch up pins with a fine file or bit of 120g abrasive paper.
