    Hello All,

This will be my first post of hopefully many. I am putting together a mudroom bench with storage cubbies and am trying to decide the best method of joinery for the casing. It will need to be strong since I have two young boys. I am contemplating mortise and tenon joints but havent figured out how many i would need. I dont have a problem with through mortise and tenon as I like the look of through tenons. The bench will be made from either 1×12’s or two 1×8’s laminated together.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, and Happy Woodworking.

    BD,

Best suggestion is to post a sketch or two of what you are trying to achieve. There’s a lot of ways to build something like that depending on what you expect it to look like. Type of joinery will be best determined by the design you choose.

I have a couple of drawings in my journal that I will try to post later tonight. Guess I should have probably started off with the sketches. I’ll make sure to do that in the future.

    Thanks,
    Brian
