Thanks to a friend from church I have been able to use oak for the first time. I have done 3 mortises and a couple of tenons so far. I’m really enjoying the experience of working with the oak.
Although I’ve not got to that stage yet – I have a question about the location of the drawbore pins. On the leg posts won’t one of the pins end up in the tenon of the side rails?

and Izzy’s response.24 June 2019 at 6:27 pm #584035Yes, if I made another bench I think I would move the side rails out as well. I also intended to move the back rail 1.25″ in rather than the 0.75″ on the plan , but then realised that the mortises would overlap so I have gone for 1″.

I’m having so much fun with this build but the UK weather has not been conducive to rip sawing the angles on the back legs!
