I show my newly acquired Stanley 101 & 102 block planes. The 101 is disassembled and I demonstrate setting the blade with a small hammer.
Hi Marty. Incredibly generous of you to take your time and share these things with us. Cute little plane, that 101. Have fun with them both.
I have a Stanley #120, that is similar to your 102 except it has a lever to adjust the cutting depth. Unfortunately the mechanism for tensioning the lever cap is stripped out, so the plane is almost useless. Would love to fix it, but not sure how. Oh, well, I have another.

Thanks Matt. Fortunately there are so many block planes available on EBay it’s easy to pick up replacements. And for the most part, the used block planes are still affordable, unlike many of the bench planes.
