I learned a lot of lessons making this box. Probably most important, have at least a good idea of what the end project is going to look like before you begin. This was one of those that started out just being a plain old box, then I almost couldn’t stop refining it as I was building it which led to much aggravation. The phrase “I wish I’d thought of that before I did ________.” came up more than a few times.
Did you line the inside with something? Looks like it in the first picture.

I forgot to post specs, huh. 🙂 Yes, it’s felt lined. I used oak for the body and cedar, pine, and walnut for the accents.

Good stuff, George. As with everything, with more experience, you’ll soon incorporate these extra design elements when you first plan a piece.
It’s finished with Minwax Spray-On Polyurethane.
