Work in progress. This is the first project that will make it out of my garage into my house.
I was tasked with making a small shelf/stand for our bedroom TV that could house our DVD player and cable box, as well as act as TV stand, rather than just stacking everything on top of each other. I thought about it for a while and wanted to make something that wouldn’t lose its usefulness/function as things change (new TV, no more DVD player/cable box). So I decided to build a simple(ish) dresser-top drawer box. The back is open to receive wiring. The equipment needs to breath, hence the scrolled sun design in the sides.
I am almost done with the box portion, and will also build the accompanying drawer. My wife will be able to keep the drawer elsewhere on her dresser for her knick knacks.
Current idea; the box will be stained lightly, and the drawer will be stained dark to contrast the sun ray design.
The only power equipment is my benchtop scroll saw, which I enjoy using, to cut out the sun rays.
