Great finding good wood and saving it from a bad fate. Looking forward to seeing your box(es).
BTW, what’s a “skip”?

8 May 2015 at 8:29 pm #127047Looking good, Max. Fun little projects, those boxes. Great learning experiences, too.
8 May 2015 at 10:22 pm #127048I have to admit it was quite fun. I didn’t think it would be because I’ve never really into box making…
I was really surprised because I only spent an hour and a half on this little box and it was satisfy to know that it will last longer than I will.
Although I did try doing some by pencil and not knife to see what Paul means by the difference in quality. The ones I did with the knife are seamless and the ones I market with pencil have small gaps… pic below

12 May 2015 at 9:54 pm #127115It’s a tragedy how often wood like this must get chucked away because someone doesn’t appreciate its potential or value to the right person. Good job for saving it.
The box looks good and useful, glad to see this wood getting a second lease of life.
Matt
