My experience from white oak and hard maple is that Osmo neutral satin hardwax oil can impart colour changes; with the oak going darker and the maple taking on a yellow tint. Expertise whom I asked, said that it is because of the solvent used. Having heard and read that discolouring does not occur, the effect is perhaps also dependent on the type of wood or extractives present.
Attached a photo (captured at 5 000 °K, using the same camera equipment, and cropping the only editing), showing the changes that occurred when using the oil on a cabinet in white oak.
