I managed to make a sliding lid dovetail box for my brother this christmas, here are some photos of it, very happy with how it turned out, it’s all american white oak, except the base which is quartersawn brown oak.

thanks david, I try my best, filling the holes where the groove goes through was more challenging for me than the joinery, getting the end grain to match is an art in itself.
I really love making these boxes as gifts, the way people react is priceless when they get it and worth more than any money in the world.
