Not my day, just dropped my Lie Nielsen block plane, and oops. The stud has broken off right inside the planes body. I have sent them an email to see if i can buy the front knob on its own.
I dont do it often but I hate dropping tools.
I have just had a reply from Lie Nielsen, and if I send the plane back to them they will repair it free of charge.
Or they will send me a replacement knob, but as it is stuck in they recommend I return it to them.
Now this was my own fault, and they will still repair it FOC, now that is great service.
Oh you have to hate when that happens, I think most of us have been there. You can’t beat LN or LV for Customer Service they are on top of their game. I don’t blame you for not wanting to send the plane to them, shipping is getting really expensive.
Good luck on getting the plane fixed I wouldn’t think it would be a big deal to find some one to drill that stud out.
