Panel Thicknessing

Hi ,
When working only with handtools , is it better to bring your boards to proper thickness before glueing up a panel ? Or , is it better to glue-up first and then bring the panel to proper thickness ? I use both methods but interested if there is a best practice ! Thanks , Peter
It depends how good your glue-up skills are.
Mine are not good enough, so I only go to finish thickness after glue up. 😀
That allows for a bit of cupping / warping / misalignment in the joints.
Just make sure the glue edges are jointed properly.
