Was perusing eBay.uk just to compare prices and randomly ran across this listing:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Antique-Woodworking-Tools-Stanley-Whitmore-Sandvik-Sanderson-Rabone-/272820356339?hash=item3f855c44f3:g:RToAAOSwZfFZeJ-J
If it wasn’t such a long drive (5000 miles) with an inconvenient body of water in the way I might go pick it up. If you’re in the area and in the market for some tools it’s worth a look.
From the listing:
Sandvik 22″ 275 saw: Cuts well
Sandvik 24″ 275 saw: Cuts well.
John cockerill tennon saw: Blunt
Sanderson newbould brass backed saw: teeth are flattened.
Whitmore no 5 plane: Needs cleaning
Stanley bailey no 4 plane: Needs cleaning
Rabone chesterman square: Needs cleaning.
Various other marking gauges and oil stones inc. See pictures.
Even comes with a nice carrying case.
small world!!
i bought this before before i became a member; for a little fun restoring the tools ect
remade the drawers in the box and gave it a coat of varnish, plan on giving it to a friend for christmas
only thing that wasn’t much fun was carrying it as my Mrs had the car !
