Podium design – using plywood help

Well I can cut a dovetail but I’ve never attempted to build something like this. Given stability concerns I thought using nice think veneer plywood would work but I haven’t got the foggiest idea how to create the joints. Maybe I’m over thinking this. The picture is desired end product. Any suggestions on how build this to be solid I’d greatly appreciate.
If I look at that, I see mortice and tenon joints for all of it. Complexity really depends on how many joints you want that are not 90 degrees. If you taper the sides of the front, but keep it and the side pieces vertical with respect to the base, then only the top would be angled,
