Hi guys. I just got my self this plane this week, and I have to say It’s a cracking plane. It comes with three blades 25 38 50 bevel The sole is flat and it is square to the sides. I bought it at Workshop Heaven and I have to say the service you get is 100%.
The guy who owns and runs it is Matthew, he even went to the trouble of unpacking it and checking it over for flatness for me.
The Quangsheng planes that Matthew sells are far better quality than those being sold by other sites.Ok I love Lie Nielsen tools, but when I can get two quality planes for the price of one, common sense prevails. Workshop Heaven have some great tools on there site, check them out………http://www.workshopheaven.com
Very Best
KenAnonymous17 November 2012 at 6:34 pm #3374Nice one Ken 😉 Matthew has a good reputation and deservedly so. 🙂
18 November 2012 at 10:30 pm #3438Hopefully that one will make it over here as a wood river. The version that dictum sells comes with a aluminium hot dog and a rather unfortunate poo brown paint colour.
19 November 2012 at 11:53 am #3441Workshop Heaven are great but I bought a Quangsheng #5 from them and it had a pretty huge manufacturing problem. The mouth wasn’t square and the paint inside it had been scratched off. I think the machine used to mill the mouth was out of square. I returned it and got a refund (including shipping) but was put off by the experience (put off the plane manufacturer – not WSH!). Glad yours is working out for you though Ken!
George.
Anonymous19 November 2012 at 2:29 pm #3442Thanks George, from what I understand Quangsheng got a good blasting from Matthew, and all the problems were sorted out.
Sorry you got one of the bad one’s, pleased you got it sorted out buddy.

Anonymous19 November 2012 at 6:03 pm #3449Matthew definitely gave Quangsheng a massive blasting and their production qualities lept by quite a degree in a very positive direction.
19 November 2012 at 10:51 pm #3476Good to know they got a shouting at. They seemed really appealing because they fill the market between the mostly rubbish bottom end of the market and the hugely expensive top end. Might take another look if I’m after a new one in the future. I picked up a Bailey 5 1/2 after returning the Quangsheng. Needs a bit of tuning up but isn’t in too bad shape.
George.
Anonymous19 November 2012 at 10:56 pm #3478Matthew’s very good in terms of customer service and won’t tend to stock items unless he believes in the level of quality he aims to retail, as well as use himself. 😉
The half size planes have a nice degree of heft to them and I enjoy using mine a lot. 🙂
