Hi,
I know I know – all my tools are hand tools except for this as I got tired of re-sawing and ripping thick Wenge. I just got this bandsaw and assembled it. It works fine, however it does seem to have some noises that I am not sure are normal. I checked – none of the guide wheels are touching the blade – they are close, but not touching. It seems like resonance as well as some other metallic noise of something touching something – though I cannot see what (and I am not comfortable opening the top and bottom doors while it is on).
Any ideas? I have attached a sound clip.
Sounds like a bandsaw running to me.
Is it set up according to the manual? Blade tracking as it should? Do the guide wheels turn when feeding wood into the blade? Do you have experience with other bandsaws or know someone who does? I doubt it would even run with the doors open.
There’s YouTube videos out there on this bandsaw. Looks like a nice saw.

Yup followed everything to the letter. No recent experience with other bandsaws, only 25 years ago.
Blade tracks centre on the wheels. Guide wheels not relevant in this test as they are not touching and the noise is from it just being on, not cutting.
Perhaps I am expecting too much 🙂
I think I fixed it – I increased the drive belt tension a bit and moved the rollers slightly further away. That harmonic seems gone now.
