Made from butcherblock I rescued from the garbage. Maybe 70% handtools on this build. Ripping/resawing was done on a table saw because I don’t have that much time on my hands :).

I would have loved to put a second shelf but it was custom built to fit above/around the dog-bowl holder I had built previously. My monster needs to be able to fit his head between the two.

Excellent project, Joe. I like the way the bevel on the top matches the bevel on the top of the dog dish holder. And I love the re-use of old materials that were going to go to a landfill!! Congrats.

What kind of dog is he? He looks great as does the woodwork project.

I like the “monster”. The island matches his bowel tray perfectly.

    Thanks guys.

The dog is a South African Mastiff (Boerboel).

Lots of stop cuts and rasp/file work for the curved legs. Took more time than I was expecting.

My first attempt at making a dowel. Wish I had (or made)a dowel cutter… these didn’t come out exactly round. Close enough though.
