Tagged: Sharpening plane iron
Hi all,
Just a quick sharpening question.
Is there any difference in sharpening a plane iron for a wooden smoothing plane as compared to a Stanley / record #4?
The blade needs resetting so I was going to flatten the back; use a honing guide to establish a new 25 degree bevel; then hone by hand using Paul’s method to finish up. Does the fact that it’s a wooden plane change anything? The bevel angle for instance?
The blade has a cap iron as well.
Thanks
Bill
