Hello
Can anyone give me a tip on how I can fix this problem? When I constructed the carcas of this Tool drawer I noticed that the sides don’t go straight to the top. As you can see in the photo (green line is to point out the problem). Is it maybe the end grain in the half lap tenon that causes this?
Is it a perspective problem or is the spacing between upright above wider then it is below?
Well, in the meanwhile I discovered the problem. The problem was that the half lap tenons of the right side were not cut on the same side so that forced the right side to bend thus it never could been square. I feel so stupid! I now glued up a new side piece to do it over… I’ve learned an important lesson, check and measure twice before cutting. (The picture is from behind so there it is the left side)
One great classic is wrong dovetails, perfect to make a Z shape instead of a box.
