The top of the rivet looks to have been either attempted to be repaired or just ground/filed/hammered not sure. I cannot use what is left to make it work so need to remove rivet and replace it. I do not really want to buy another frog just to get a good adjuster, I want to keep original as possible as it was my grandfather’s plane. Anyone tried to replace the rivet any suggestions would be great. As I have not removed it yet, is it a Steel or Aluminum rivet(tried a magnet but it just sticks to the adjuster so I cannot tell). Thanks, Moe.
Moe,
Here’s some good information:

Scroll down to ” I’m in love with a blue frog”
You’ll have to join the site in order to see the photos, so do that first, it doesn’t cost anything, just sign up.
Their search engine works well if you’re creative with the search words. Ditto Google for “hand plane restoration” etc.
The rivet replacement operation is a little dicy in that if you don’t set up correctly it’s probable you’ll crack the frog so follow his setup closely.
