I just got my rebate plane in the mail and got it un-boxed. I must say I was sorely disappointed in the quality of the plane. Missing pieces which I can produce myself such as washers and screws. But the depth gauge is probably the most irritating. There is a very nicely machined V-grove in the side of the plane in which the depth Gauge slides in but the surface of the gauge its-self is a ruff and is round instead of a V. And there is a round cast on both sides of the gauge which prevents it from nesting against the surface. With some work I can get it in shape and usable but Stanley quality has gone in the trash!
