Ok for some reason I had real difficulty with this project, mainly because I used a hunk of really soft pine. It just shatters at the edges when planing down those 45 angles. Secondly the board I used was a dressed board and was only 1.5 inches thick. All in all I got it made and it planes pretty good on a straight board. I’ll have to make a stool and try it out on a scalloped seat. Next time I’m going to use a thicker board, the plane is quite low and is a little on the small side. While I was waiting for the glue to dry I grabbed a scrap piece of walnut and carved out a long cooking spoon.

@gman3555 and @safron thanks Serhly and Greg that piece of walnut is almost black. I still have enough for another couple spoons.
Finished up the wedge today and did some planing with it. It works pretty darn nice for a first time attempt at making a plane.

Plane looks like it works a treat I will add the plane on to my project to make list, did you make the blade or is it a purchased one.Buying a block plane blade seems to be a cheaper option
