Yeah, that is by far the best one I’ve seen built. I don’t have much experience with lathes, but from what I know of larger CNC machines, the stiffness of the structure determines how well they will cut more difficult material. I’d have to assume that applies to how well a lathe will cut as well. His seems much sturdier than the other designs I’ve seen. The weight of the flywheel also has to help a lot. He says he plans to do another video with more detailed build instructions.
