Has anyone tried sharpening a saw with a diamond three square file? I thought they might be an alternative to the poorly made conventional files now available from Nicholson, etc. I see that Grobet and Pferd both make three square diamond needle files that look to be about the right size.

I have done it with an extremely cheap diamond file (4 [throwaway?]files for a few Euros of which one was triangular) on a saw bought on a flea market. The saw was much sharper after but then it was my first try at sharpening. So it works but no long time experience (neither in sharpening nor on file longevity). Paul once spoke about it but just to say he was wandering about the file longevity.
I guess Grobet and Pferd are much more expensive than the one I used.
