Welcome! / Forums / General Woodworking Discussions / Wood and Wood Preparation / Timber merchants
Hi all, hope you are staying safe in these strange times (you are probably bored of people saying that now).
I am very new to woodworking but would like to start a few new projects and just wondered if anyone knew of specific timber merchants that are open still? Thinking of getting specific timbers such as pine / oak / iroko and the normal wickes / b and q don’t seem to have specific woods they are just generic.
Thanks
Sam
Hi,
Depending on where you are you might try:
yandles.co.uk who supply timber and much more (Somerset)
whippletree.co.uk (Royston – Herts)
easternhardwoods.co.uk (they may do free delivery if you can wait until they are in your area – Harlow – Essex)
There are quite a few around…..but usually not on your doorstep – unfortunately
Cheers
Dean
