Those that have built the Tool Chest can you please tell me how much you can fit into it.
I would like to know because we have just sold our house and I am going to have to leave my beloved workshop and start again. This is vary sad but exciting as it means a new bigger workshop, new tools, better extraction or I am not going its that simple! It is also chance to correct mistakes I made setting up my existing shop.
Any how I need something to move my tools in and keep them together so I am thinking why not make a tool chest as the last project in my old shop. But what will fit in a chest and how much before it is full. Do I need just one to accommodate my wood working hand tools or two or three.
I cant build one and see for myself as I have a limited time available before the moving van shows up. This is made worse by my acquired Physical disabilities that mean I am very slow to do anything. so I need to get on.
Thanks6 April 2014 at 3:33 pm #50298Hi Neil,
Well… I didn’t finish my tool chest yet, but I’m very close))), and my is
much bigger.Original Paul’s tool chest is ideal for essential tool set, which is Paul recommended in his blog. I don’t know how many tools you accumulate, but all of us tools addictive(I believe). I don’t planning store my saws in the chest. Moving and storing it’s two different things( my two cents), when you create your workshop, you place everything easy to get, maximize protection from environment and minimize place which they take in your shop( ha-ha-ha..you should see my room total mess know).
If you need more then one…you might consider cabinet underneath of your tool chest.
