    Howdy,
Does anybody know where I can order a tool name stamp? I love buying old tools and see the woodworkers name stamped on the tool and I would like to be able to do that to mine.

    Thanks in advance.

    Nicely done and quite fast.
The site has a gallery of examples.

@Ken the infinitystamps has some great maker stamp options. I’m going to get once I have an extra $400 🙂

@Phil sent me this link for the UK http://www.oldtoolstore.co.uk/

The only way to get a stamp is to phone in or email. I did and here is the response:

“The cost for your name stamp in standard 3/32″ capitals will be as follows:

    C. PENDLETON – £70.35
    C PENDLETON – £69.00
    PENDLETON – £63.15”

So, let me get this straight. For a one time fee of $400, Any tool I stamp becomes mine?

    Sounds like a great deal… 😉

    Caleb,
My stamp, just two initials and last name, without the serrated border was about $90.00, which seemed reasonable and I had it in hand within 4 days.

I have many vintage tools that came marked (including an etched signature in a Disston 23 handsaw), but I never thought of marking my tools. My tools never travel anywhere. I suppose it would allow them to be identified if stolen? Hmmm…

@craig Would you be so kind and post some pictures of your tools with your mark?

If your willing to make the stamp in Google sketch up you can have shape ways print it in stainless steel for you. I had a very small/simple name stamp that says jbecwar on it made. It took me about two hours to make in sketchup and was my first model. It cost about $40 dollars to get printed and took about 4 weeks, but it was around the holidays and they were swamped. It works great. The steel is very tough and has held up great.

Here is a link to shape ways: http://www.shapeways.com/materials/steel

Here is a video of it in action. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9VOwqtOglg
