I’m sure that it is stable and strong but…it would be difficult to build with hand tools. Resin is not tool edge friendly.

Yea, I wonder about that. It used to take me forever to sharpen and the idea that the resin in plywood or LVL would dull my tools quicker worried me. But now it takes hardly any time at all to sharpen. Does resin do anything to the tools other than dull them more quickly?
Also, this could be the excuse I am looking for with my wife. “Honey, I need to buy some more hand planes so I can switch to a sharp one when one gets dull. And you know how fast that LVL dulls that edge!” 🙂

I’ve only worked with LVL beams twice helping with building room additions. The LVL beams that we used caused sparks to fly off the circular saw blade. They were very, very hard. The structure of the beam was more like chipboard than like plywood.
