This has been keeping me busy this past week and im really pleased how it came out. I have never done so many mortice and tenons on one project, I think I counted about 28 in the end. I wish I had drawn up a plan before I started as I was just winging it and spent a lot of wasted time just looking at it and thinking what do I do now haha..but got there in the end.. its had a couple coats of Shellac and going to finish with clear varnish like Paul’s coffee table.. The wife keeping me in work she wants a side cabinet next ‘happy days’ 🙂

8 June 2013 at 11:25 am #13187Lol Thanks Eddy, to be honest I was just sort of working it out as I went along, I have only been doing woodwork for couple of months so I’m not even sure if i have done it correct, but the tele hasnt fallen off yet haha.
I did mortise and tenon joints to form the basic frame and small stub tenons for the cross members. Floating panels set in rebates at either end and used turn buttons to hold down top and base. Don’t know if this was any help to you buddy but you’ll certainly get plenty of practice joining boards together and chopping mortises 🙂8 June 2013 at 11:34 am #13188Thanks Martin i will go hide in the shed and work something out i hope i comes out as good as yours cheers
