Just found this and thought I need to share it:
Berlin Secretary Cabinet designed and built by Roentgen (on core77)
Unbelievable, the amount of intricacy, attention to detail, craftsmanship, ideas, problems solved. This seems to be more high tech than the new Iphone 6 🙂
I would love to see Paul inspect this – similar to the way he is presenting the toolchest right now. It seems like 2 life times of work and skill went in to this piece.
especially check out the last part in the video, where it opens the complex easel:
Thanks for posting. Amazing what a master craftsman / genius can do.
there are some other threads from last year about Roentgen’s works…but its a subject that never gets old and there are *lots* more members now, so not a bad idea to post at all…if you find this interesting, digging a little deeper on the web will reveal lots more. The Met has vids on at least two or three other pieces that I can think of right off the top of my head, including a couple different desks and a gaming table. All absolutely astonishing.
