Unusual challenges

As is often the way once people start to find out that you “can do lots of stuff with wood”, the strange requests start coming in. A colleague at work asked me if I can make some fingerboard ramps and obstacles as a present for her son. Google it, these things are real.
Looks like I will be learning to bend plywood, or create my own bastard type of board using thick plane shavings and a pvc tube as a form. Not to mention lots of plywood joinery.
Anybody else had any polite inquiries for off the wall types of one off projects? Just curious really.

I have now been asked to make two toilet stools for someone as christmas presents for their relatives, to help people poop. So, the important questions are: Shaker or Craftsman, solid or folding, fixed height or variable (it appears toilet seat height can vary by up to four inches). Better hope the kids don’t look too closely at my browser history on this one, that could generate some very awkward questions 🙂
