Walnut for Rocking Chair project

    My local timber yard has a christmas sale on right now. I can get a 20% discount on walnut and I was thinking of using it for the Rocking Chair project.  Would it be an appropriate wood to use?

    Dave,

    From what I can find on the net, any of these woods will be ok.
    Mahogany
    maple
    Cherry
    Walnut
    Oak

    I love the look of walnut.

    Have to look for a supplier who has some nice looking wood for a decent price.

    The prices here in Holland for wood and tools are absurd high.(in my opinion anyways)

    I guess I’m fortunate in the wood supply dept.  Living in eastern Canada we have many species of hardwood harvested locally.

    I guess it would make sense to direct your question to your wood supplier
