Walnut dust is very harmful and some people are allergic to it too. Definitely not good to breath. As far as spoons goes, I personally think that it’s fine. The reason people are anxious about it is that when horse owners use the shavings for horse bedding, the shavings can and often do kill the horse. I don’t know how much exposure they need to the shaving so I always stay on the safe side and will not give walnut shavings to horse owners.

I am using some old mohagony board I used for scrap, it is from the limb part of the tree so it has some beautiful grain and ribbon. Lets see how it works!! it is Genunine mohagony from Peten, Guatemala, the best you can get and at the exporters own yard. Also, from sustainable source. Here is a picture. it does not look so clear. But you will see it better on the post on my spoon.
