hi Ken i used double sided tape and its been on for months no movement what so ever
I used contact adhesive on mine. No issues for over a year. I’ve also been using double sided tape for a few things and it holds really well too.

I use pva glue, spreading it very thin, and cutting the leather a bit wide. On my first attempt the glue soaked through the leather in spots and oozed around the edges creating places that wouldn’t take the charging compound.
I use that green chromium oxide compound from Harbor Freight. Paul mentioned it a while back as acceptable so I grabbed a stick.
