I ran into severe warping when trying to make the table top for the console table project (after laminating three maple boards, I was gone for a couple weeks, and when I came back the table top had a 1/8″ cup and some twist, so I flattened it (it was down to 5/8″ thick at this point) and it warped badly again — so I rip-cut it into strips and laminated them like a cutting board, so now it’s about 15″x9″). Now I’m trying to figure out what to use this for. Would 9″ be too narrow to use with the console table design? I could just use it as a cutting board, but that seems a bit of a waste of however many hours I spent laboring over this board.
Thanks,
Bryan
Thanks Sven-Olof! That box looks great. I ended up making a cutting board because I had some tear-out in a corner that seemed to deep to really fix. Turned out pretty nice. Good thing I’m not charging by the hour for this cutting board though.. it would have been very expensive :).
Thanks Bryan!
Well, twice the time and twice the material is the norm for me. Though, it has made me welcome with the timber yard.
