Welcome! / Forums / General Woodworking Discussions / Projects / Windows anyone?
I was taught by my farther with hand tools alone and even though I have worked in joinery shops cabinet makers shops I found them to be sadly in my opinion substandard and almost exclusively machine shops.
Now I have my own small Joinery shop in Swindon, England and I use machines to process rough timber but past that I work it by hand.
I’m looking for anyone who may have some tips on a project I’m working on… I like to think I’ve done a reasonable job but a few of the joints didn’t seat quite right… frustrating! There isn’t a great deal of info anywhere on making glazing bars unless it’s cope and stick on a spindle moulder witch I don’t think is good practice for external joinery for a number of reasons…
Any thoughts on a process which I could use to make the mitres that bit more snug?
I watched some videos on youtube before about making wood double-hung windows. You might look it up. Good luck.
I tried to find the videos that you mentioned but I can only find videos on doing it all by machine… thanks for the tip though.
If you know a video doing it by hand I’d be interested to see it!
Thanks, Max
